The Festool TSC 55 KS is a new generation of cordless plunge saw—lighter, slimmer and easier to handle, while retaining the cutting performance professionals expect from a Festool TSC.

Unlike the previous TSC 55 K, which used two 18V batteries, the new TSC 55 KS achieves its full performance using just one battery pack. This makes the saw more compact, reduces the number of batteries tied up in one tool and gives it a more balanced feel for mobile work.

For maximum performance and runtime, pairing the saw with an 8.0 Ah high-performance battery pack is recommended. It can also be operated with a compatible 5.0 Ah Li-HighPower battery. Keep a second battery charging while you work and swap it over when required. (Battery & chargers sold separately)

Full performance from one 18V battery

One battery is all the TSC 55 KS needs. Its intelligent power electronics and brushless EC-TEC motor work together to extract maximum performance from the battery, delivering speeds of up to 5,200 rpm.

Slimmer, lighter and easier to control

The single-battery layout gives the TSC 55 KS a compact, well-balanced design that sits comfortably in the hand. The tool weighs just 3.3 kg without battery or accessories, making it well suited to installation work, repeated cuts and jobs where the saw is frequently carried or repositioned.

Its flat-sided housing also allows cuts as close as 12 mm from a wall, extending the range of work you can complete without awkward setup or additional finishing.

Fast cutting with a 1.6 mm thin-kerf blade

The supplied 160 mm thin-kerf saw blade has a cutting width of only 1.6 mm. The reduced cutting resistance allows the saw to move through material more efficiently, helping improve cutting speed and the number of cuts completed per battery charge.

The blade geometry is designed to combine fast progress with the clean, accurate cut quality expected from the Festool guide-rail system.

KickbackStop for safer plunge cutting

Kickback can occur when the saw blade binds or when the saw lifts unexpectedly from the workpiece. Festool’s sensor-based KickbackStop detects sudden movement and activates the quick-acting brake to stop the blade. This substantially reduces the risk of injury while also helping protect the workpiece from damage.

Accurate depth adjustment

The cutting-depth scale uses a dual pointer so the depth can be read correctly whether the saw is being used directly on the workpiece or on a Festool guide rail.

Fine adjustment makes it easy to dial in an exact cutting depth, while the TSC 55 KS provides:

• Up to 55 mm cutting depth at 90°
• Up to 43 mm cutting depth at 45°
• Adjustable mitre range from -1° to 47°

Clean cuts with less rework

When used with a Festool guide rail and the attachable splinter guard, the TSC 55 KS can produce clean, virtually splinter-free edges on both sides of the cut. The transparent sliding viewing window also provides a clear view of the blade and cutting area when working without a guide rail.

Low-dust cutting wherever you work

For short mobile jobs, the supplied chip collection bag offers convenient dust collection without an extractor. For more intensive work, connect the saw to a compatible Festool mobile dust extractor using the 27/36 mm CLEANTEC connection. By pairing a compatible Bluetooth-equipped Festool battery and extractor, starting the saw can automatically activate the extractor.

FastFix blade changes

Festool’s FastFix spindle stop makes changing blades quick and straightforward. The saw’s compact shape allows it to rest securely on its side, providing easier access to the blade and fixing screw.

This makes changing between blades for timber, laminate, aluminium or other suitable materials faster and more convenient.
